George Burns

Pappy

My husband and I do love our farm animals and enjoy them beyond words. Additionally, we have three  indoor, furry friends that we love too.  Pappy, 10 years and George Burns, four years are both Papillons and Gracie Allen, four years, is a long-haired Chihuahua. They are our children. We do everything with them including sleep and we don't have a big bed.

Gracie Allen
Little Gracie Allen is quite a unique Chihuahua. She's always been different and we noticed early on that she had a love for TV Land, as her parents do. When she was a puppy, she grew accustomed to the TV Land lineup and often watched it with her dad and me. We noticed she would take extra interest in a few of the shows and became incredibly excited when the theme music would play. Two of her favorites are Andy Griffith and Sanford and Son. No matter what she's doing she immediately stops as soon as the first note of her shows are played. She then looks around to see if we're watching and then begins to run around, howling. However, there is one show that is her absolute favorite--M.A.S.H. When she hears it there is no stopping her. She gets so excited. As a matter of fact, it affects her so much that if we watch back to back shows we often switch the channel until the opening credits and theme music are finished for fear of over stimulating her. It's difficult to describe so we thought we would just share it. Enjoy.

That is so funny!! It made my dog run in here to see what in the world I was watching. Well, since I love T.V. Land too, that is nice.

So funny!

Ha! Gracie is a cutie! I played the clip and Morgan came running whining and making little crying noises. She obviously sympathizes with Gracie. Thank you for commenting on my blog. :)

Hello Amy!
LOL that was precious...who'd have thought a dog would get so excited over the music from a TV show. Our two Shih Tzu's came running in here to see what all the commotion was about and started barking. Poor Bubba just couldn't figure out where this strange dog was hiding! All your dogs are sweet. My brother and sister in law have 2 Shelties and one Papillon....the little one thinks he's a LION and rules the roost around that house. They bring him over here and he has our HUGE Akbash towing the line in no time...he's not afraid of anything! The UPS guy that goes to their house won't get out of his van...not because of the Shelties but because of Rusty the Papillon! Give your pups a scratch for me please. Have a great week. Maura :)

One of the things I learned about Bee keeping is order the most docile of the bees. I can't remember the name but it will say on the list of the apiary your buy your bees from. My favorite book on the subject was Bee Keeping for Dummies.
Make sure they mark your queen. I think if my bees had not been so aggresive I would have enjoyed them more. My Mom was a bee keeper and her bees were never like that.
It is a great hobby, but once I got afraid of them it sort of ruined it for me. I would get sick for days after I got stung and I don't have time to be sick.
Thanks for your comment, farm girls do need manicures. :)
Oh there are some great videos on You Tube about bee keeping. I think I learned the most watching those.
Beverley at Bee Haven has some good blogs about her bees too.

Little dogs are very loud. We had a dachshund and she used to howl when I would sing "Oh my darling, Clementine." I guess that says something about my singing :)

That was too cute!! Don't you wonder what goes through their minds? I used to leave the t.v. on for our dogs while we were away during the day (Animal Planet). And then A.P. started airing those 'scary shows'.. so I quit! Didn't want to traumatize my babies :-o -Tammy
